This challenge was a bit of a struggle in that I wanted to figure out something other than masking or cutting shapes from existing stickers. So I used a border sticker and folded it around a piece of card stock in order to make an outer most layer for a layered flower. Sounds simple right...well, it was!
Here's the border strip on the sticker sheet, it's from CTMH and if you have ever bought any of those then you know how stiff they are, I love the quality of their card stock stickers.
The folding process, this was the most difficult part because the border sticker is made out of card stock and it was pretty stiff. The paper is just a scrap of card stock, I put a hole in the middle so that I could keep all the folded sticker and ribbon in a sort of even pattern.
By the time I had completely folded the sticker I had lost a lot of the stickiness so I just added some additional glue dots to help it stay stuck.
Here's the final outcome, the border strip is the outer most layer.
I layered red ribbon, then green ribbon, placed a green flower, a pink flower and a button center. The red and green ribbon were a little easier to deal with, I used my ATG to apply adhesive to the back of the ribbon and it folded like a charm...of course the loose end of the ribbon kept sticking to everything. LoL!
It's not too thick.
Here it is used on a layout (btw this is #11 from the October kit), the layout was inspired by a Shimelle's sketch of the week.
Those little birdies are rub ons, originally on a border strip, I cut out some of them for added detail around the layout.
More rub on birdies. The journaling sheet is really only about 3 inches long, I cut it so that a small portion was at the top of the title circle and the remainder was at the bottom. I used a sharpie in blue to journal.
And here's a different angle of the flower with the sticker border layer.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and I hope I inspired you to use some of your old or outdated stickers to come up with something new. Now on to the next stop...
