oh baby, my baby

Today's layout is inspired by one of this month's sketches at Page Maps, I love the sketches there and have been visiting the website for years!

July CKC kit 2--layout 10

I have to say that I am not thrilled with the glimmer mist splatters on this layout, I guess that's what I get for adding it after the fact! I do love the subject matter though...it's my sweet grand daughter Zoë.
I had to be a little creative with the stickers again...I ran out of O's so I had to nip the tail off a Q to make this work.

I have tons of those little tab letter stickers, reason being cuz they don't work great! I might have to figure a way to use them in some other way!
I used another journal block that I printed out and just added a little washi tape to it, it already had the "heart this" on it.

I used the darker blue glitter stickers here, not sure they really match my layout but that's ok, I think it works well enough that I am going to leave it alone!

today and every day, family/friends

Today's layout was inspired by this weeks sketch over at Creative Scrappers. Have ya'll been wondering what is up with all these new web sites I've been visiting? Well, the scrapbooking group that I have belonged to for the last several years (Scrap~n~Chat) is closing in December. I've kinda been a one group kinda girl, though I have maintained my member status at 2peas now for nearly 6 years (been going there for about 10). In my 6 years worth of membership I have just over 200 posts, that means I haven't had much to say over there...LoL!! I love to browse their gallery though!! Where is this going....I've been exploring other websites and blogs trying to figure out if I want to join up with any one. I've decided that no, I think I will just play along on bunches of sites and just maintain my membership at 2peas. So you will continue to see me playing along with lots of challenges from many different websites.

July CKC kit 2--layout 9

I used the backside of the basic gray paper on this one, it just worked so well with the other colors. I love that I used more scraps on this layout!

I stamped the border along the bottom of the graph paper and squeezed in a couple more scraps.

More stickers that I have popped up, I added the word friends to the little green floral sticker.

I cut one of the journal bubbles in half and cut the pointy part off to use on this layout.

A close up of the brad and of the frame I used, actually under the picture.

I love when I get to use scrap paper on layouts, it makes me feel like I am getting my monies worth from the paper. That being said, the sketch at Stuck this month lent itself to getting the most out of your scraps.

July CKC kit 2--Layout 8

I love all the circles on this layout! I used scraps for this one except the piece in the upper right corner and the smaller piece just to the left of it. Those are both from the basic gray paper I put in my kit. As you can tell I mixed in some stickers, brads and buttons to complete this layout.

I didn't want to use the orange letters here, the only ones I have enough of to make a title for this layout so I used some more of my scrap paper to cut a title with the Studio font on my revolution.

Here's a close up of the basic gray circle paper and the back side of it as well.

Here's the bottom of the right side.

Here's the bottom of the left side.

So Happy Together

I'm posting another layout make with my July CKC kit, I was inspired to make this one by using a sketch from Sketch Inspiration. I know it really doesn't look a lot like the sketch, but I love how it turned out...and the fact that I used all scrap pieces makes it even better!

July CKC kit 2--layout 7

I used leftover paper and stickers from kit 1 and kit 2.

I was able to squeeze out another word from the brown letter tiles, that sheet is nearly at an end. I also cut out the word together with the leftover turquoise cardstock from kit 1 using my revolution and the Studio font.

I popped up the brown heart sticker to give a little texture and journaled around the green patterned paper.

On the bottom left and top right I layered a piece of washi tape and then the basic gray cut out tape and then anchored them with a brad. You can also see that I stamped a sentiment on this layout as well.

I put a couple of bits of bling on the chipboard piece to add a little sparkle.

Happy Little Girl

I made this layout based on a sketch from Sketch~N~Scrap, it's one of my new sources of inspiration! I have spent years and years making 2 page layouts and just recently (last 3 months) I have made more 1 page layouts than I have ever made. For some reason, I feel free...I still like to make layouts that coordinate by using the same papers but I don't necessarily need to make 2 pages at the same time. KWIM?
July CKC Kit 2, Layout 6

So here is the layout, I used lots of little bits and pieces down the right side, the photos were supposed to be smaller, but I just couldn't cut them down any more than what I did!

Here's a close up, I used lots of the chipboard pieces from my kit and even some brads and buttons too.

I layered up some heart stickers on the blue chipboard piece and used a little chipboard heart by the word tiles little. You can also see I used ribbon under the photos to fill some of the space there. I love how I've been able to make more and more words by making little tiles with the mixed alphas in this kit and what was left over from kit 1.

Here's the first 2-pager I've done with this kit, of course its an AD sketch, I just love her sketches! I can get soo many pictures on a layout! Of course this layout isn't in the order I made it, but oh well, I'm up to a total of 5 layouts and 6 pages made so far with this kit.

 July CKC Kit #2--Layout 4

I used an Allison Davis Sketch from her #8 sketch book, it's a 5 photo sketch. These are not the best photos of our family meal time but I would rather have these than none at all. I did add some photo corner stickers to the photo that is in portrait position, I consider that my main photo since my father in law is the patriarch of the family.
As you can tell I went light on the embellishments on these layouts but I did take some time to do some hand stitching on the butterfly trails.

Not lots of layering here because the photos are so busy.

Close up of the butterfly trail in the upper left page.
Close up of butterfly trail on the lower left page.
Close up of butterfly trail on lower right layout, a bit of bling leftover from kit 1 and a popped up title sticker.

Sweetie's Happy Baby

Here's another layout not in order, but it's getting posted in a timely manner at least!
July CKC Kit #2--Layout #3
There's a couple of things about this layout that I love, the orange background, the floral paper and the glittery paper! I'm such a girly girl when it comes to shiny things!! I love too that I found that really cute journal block for free online...OK it cost me the ink to print it but I love it!
I used more of my orange letters left from kit 1 to make these little letter blocks, just used some scrap paper, I think it was actually a bar code strip off the bottom of one of the patterned papers.

I used a scrap of ribbon here to anchor the flower.

And of course I used scrap to make the banner!

I used this sketch from Let's Get Sketchy!

I'm trying to get my layouts posted in a more timely manner with this kit...LoL!! Of course that may work well for a couple of days but who knows what life will throw in my path to prevent that tomorrow! Anyway.....

July CKC Kit #2--Layout #2

As you can see, the title sticker and the ribbon banner at the top is leftover from kit #1. I used this sketch from Sketch~N~Scrap.

I've just recently started playing along over there...so many super cute sketches!!!

I scattered some glimmer mist up in this corner and added bling to and popped up the title sticker.

I cut the ribbon in different lengths to form this little banner.
Here's one of the journal cards that I printed out.
More glimmer mist and ribbon across the bottom of the photo for interest.

I popped the little tag and used a chipboard embellishment on it.

Today's layout isn't in order but I wanted to get it posted to meet the deadline for the the challenge at C.S.I., this is another blog that offers weekly challenges.
I love that they give you soo much fun inspiration and they also provide some PDF files that you can print out to use on your layout.

July CKC Kit #2--Layout 5

So the title doesn't fit at all, LoL!! I was going to make it Listen Up Funny Face...but realized I didn't have enough of any of my alpha stickers that matched this layout to make the title so....I shortened it! As you can see there are several pieces that weren't in my kit, the get silly and journal piece on the top, the background paper, the 4 silly sentiments around the pictures and the robots on the bottom. They were all from the PDF files provided by CSI

I popped the get silly sentiment and added some bling to his anteni.

Close up of the silly sentiment.

I used bits from the bar code strip left over from a MME paper to put the orange and dk brown alphas on and I used several cut outs from leftover paper from Kit #1, that's where the journal piece came from too.

Love those little robots, although they were a pain to cut out!!

I used an amazing sketch from the Paper Doll Blog.

Here is my take on the current sketch at Scrap~N~Sketch!

I love this one, not only is it of my precious Shani but it's also of my husband's niece from California. It doesn't matter that there is a 10 year age gap every time they have met they always pal around together, it's remarkably sweet that a 16 year old would take the time to play sweetly with a 6 year old!!!

July CKC Kit #2--Layout #1

I finally found a use for the clear sentiment that I had thrown into kit #1 also the orange scrap is from kit #1.

I also had that dark blue button left over from kit #1 and I used it here along with the corner stickers on the photo.

I added some bling to the chipboard and one of the glass embellishments to it's center.
The orange paper between the washi tape is the little bar code strip from one of the paper's I used. The white sticker that looks stitched is also from kit #1.
