Grand Daughters--March CKC

You might think I am stuck in March by the number of layouts I have made this month using my March Corner Stop & Shop CKC kit. I think I'm getting closer to taking apart the remaining bits and pieces and putting them back into my stash...but till then, here's another.

I was inspired to create this layout by the 5/15 Page Maps "On the Border Challenge."
I'm pretty sure you can tell the challenge was to use borders! So I went through the scraps in my kit and punched out lots of borders with my border punches.

I created these sprinkles with mist, bling and sequins.

I'm so glad I was able to get another title out of this large alpha, I will be glad to use it up!

More sprinkles.

Originally this journal spot and date tab were on the same piece, I trimmed them both out to fit the space I had to work with.

The circle embellishments on this layout are ones that I made 2 summers ago on a long road trip, I am getting close to using up all those cute little embellishments I made on that long trip.

That's it...

PL WK 13--March CKC

I created this PL spread using my March Corner Stop & Shop CKC kit, this is my 4th PL spread and I think I have another one that I want to put another one together using this kit.

This layout came together over several days, I didn't have many photos for Easter week so I had to do a little hunting on the Internet to find something that would work. So I focused the Left page on Easter week and the Right page was a night that Mr Gulley and I went to a comedy show.

Left Page.

Right Page.

I found this image on the Internet when I googled holy week. I cut the title with a Quickutz Lifestyle font.

This is a photo my son had on his phone or either on FB, I can't remember which, but I sniped it!

I also was a guest designer at the Color My Heart blog this week.

And this is the layout I created for that post.

I also found this image on the Internet, I didn't have space for it during the first week of March so I included it here as a wrap up of the show.

Another Internet image.

This was originally an itinerary card that I picked up at the show, I just cut off the bottom and covered the portion of the itinerary that remained.

I found an image on the Internet of the comedians and a little bio on both. I got the feeling that Mr Austin is used to performing a more risque show than what he performed this night.

Of course I had to take some photos of Mr Gulley and I.

I saved my wrist band, I never put it on because we didn't go to the after party that it was supposed to allow access to.

Mr Tennant was simply amazing! Paralyzed on his left side his catch phrase is "Look on the Right side!" How about that cut out laugh, I had used the letters years ago but I just couldn't bring myself to throw out the negative spaces. I am so happy that I was able to finally use them!

Doesn't Mr Gulley look like he's having a wonderful time...LoL!!!!

Card-- August 2012 CKC

This card was inspired by the Glitter Girl Adventure 034--Living on the Edge. The challenge was all about using your edge punches, which I did.
I also used scraps from my August 2012 CKC.

Sisters Friends--August 2012 CKC

This layout is based on a sketch from Creative Scrappers, it's also made from my August 2012 CKC kit.

It's the weekend so it's time to catch up those layouts that have been hiding in my draft section from last year!

This layout makes me happy!

I cut out the flowers for the corners from a large patterned paper.

A few buttons here, a few there....

The green friends title has been in my stash for years.

I used several bits of borders here and I added some pearl paint to the flower one to give it some added bling.

I used several different size brads in the flower centers for dimension.

My Baby Brother....

I had to stop calling Kenneth my little brother many years ago and he outgrew me! But I never stopped thinking of him in those terms!

My little brother died on Monday May 27 and his funeral is today.

Not many people knew my brother very well. He was very quiet and kept to himself. He wasn't one to open up to people and share his life stories. When he was a teenager he left home, he spent many years away from us and during that time he grew from a teenager to a man. He kept in touch by phone when went out to live his life and came home for random short stays. Until 5 years ago when his daddy was diagnosed with lung cancer. He came home to help our mom care and nurse his daddy until his death. After his daddy died I really thought he would leave again, but he didn't! He felt like it was time to stay and get to know his family. He has been by our mom's side for the past 5 years, helping with anything and everything she ever needed help with. He called or went by Papaw Smith's house every day, to either chat or do whatever handy work Papaw needed done (remember Papaw is 91 years old). His generous heart didn't stop with his family, he was always willing to help friends and neighbors do whatever they needed done. In 5 short years, Kenneth stayed to get to know his family and we all learned what type of man he was...kind, generous, funny and good hearted!!

When he was younger and out living his life, I never counted on hearing from him on a regular basis and even after he moved back to mom's he still wasn't one to call on a regular basis. But randomly and out of the blue he would call and spend an hour or more on the phone asking about everything that was going on in my life and I still had to drag and pull information from him about what was going on in his life. But that's the man Kenneth was, always more interested in others, more so than himself.

I don't know when the ache is going to stop in my heart or when I will begin to heal from this tragedy! But until then I will let the posts that are already scheduled post but you may not see or hear from me for awhile, or I might feel the need to scrap like crazy, I don't know right now. I do know that there is such a huge crater in my heart and life right now that just remaining upright is about all I can do for the moment!

Family Fun Day--March CKC

This layout was made using my March corner Stop & Shop CKC kit.

I was inspired to create this layout by a sketch I found at the Sketches With Color blog, I didn't necessarily use the color pallet they provided, but I did use some of the colors; dusk blue, grayed jade and lemon zest. The turquoise wood grain paper was actually a piece that I printed out from C.S.I., I cut it up and spread it over this layout.

I made this little cluster using a cut up scrap that has been in my stash for awhile.

Love the texture this rosette ribbon adds without actually being to thick!

Love all those little random bits that I was able to use on this title.

Supplies Used:
Pattern Paper: AC, EP, CTMH, C.S.I.
Cardstock: CTMH
Embellishments: Two Busy Moms (2003 woot!), CTMH, Want 2 Scrap, Making Memories, RUM
Alphas: BG, EP, Lily Bee Designs

Laugh Out Loud--March CKC

This layout was made using my March Corner Stop & Shop CKC kit. I love when my Auntie Garner comes to visit and I can catch such a spectacular smile and laugh in a photo!

I was inspired by the May sketch at the Purple Pumpkin blog. I love their sketches and all the inspiration they provide!

I added some sprinkles with some sequins and pearl flowers.

I think I've mentioned before that I love mixed font titles!!!! And I'm super excited that I was able to use that yellow alpha again.

I love the shiny parts of the glimmermist from where it pooled when I sprayed it.

I made that round piece under the flowers about a year or so ago for a kit and I never used it so it went back into my stash, I'm so glad I was able to use it here.

Supplies Used:
Pattern Paper: AC, EP, CTMH, RUM
Cardstock: CTMH
Embellishments: CTMH, Prima, Recollections, Paper Studio, RUM
Mist: Glimmermist
Alphas: AC Thickers, Lily Bee Designs, EP
Silhouette Cuts: Feathers

Christmas Card #3

I initially made this card for a Merry Monday Sketch challenge but didn't get it submitted in time, so I saved it for another challenge.
Sorry I didn't get a better photo of the envelope, I stamped musical notes on it.

I embossed the image of the violinist and used my spellbinders dies to cut it out and cut out the gold metallic paper behind it.

A little decoration on the inside too.

Supplies used:
Paper Studio card base and envelope, Recollections red & gold cardstock, CTMH white cardstock, SEI hounds tooth green/gold border, Recollections gold glitter tape, Zing gold embossing powder, CTMH black ink, Spellbinders scalloped rectangle die, RUM black bling

CTMH Stamps:
D1243 Peace on Earth
D1440 Everlasting Life
D1523 Sweet Music Everyday Life

Look...--March CKC

This layout was made with my March Corner Stop & Shop CKC kit, I am still making tons of layouts with this kit and I have plans to make a couple more PL layouts with the scraps as well.

Today's layout was inspired by the sketch at Write.Click.Scrapbook blog, it's not exactly like the sketch but I love how mine tuned out.

I mixed up some sequins, bling and pearls for a scattered look.

I used several stickers to create these pennants on toothpicks and I cut out that cute little owl from some owl's I found online, I put it on vellum and cut that out behind it as well.

Originally these pennants were attached and I cut them apart and stitched them down.

More sprinkles...

I really Frankensteined this phrase together with some letter stickers that were in my kit.

Supplies Used:
Pattern Paper: Anna Griffin, MME, SEI, RUM
Embellishments: Want2Scrap, BG, MME, Prima, AC, RUM
Alphas: Miss Elizabeth, RUM
