Celebrating the 200th Challenge at UYS

Hello Friends!!
Today we are celebrating the 200th Challenge over at the Use Your Stuff Challenge Blog and to celebrate we are having a blog hop! Yes I am the first one on the hop, so make sure you leave a comment and let me know how you choose to CELEBRATE with us!!
To help us CELEBRATE we are very excited to have Kim Evans the owner of Emerald Creek Crafts sponsor our Blog Hop and she has graciously offered a prize to one lucky winner.

In order to win this great prize, you have to leave a comment on each DT member's blog/gallery. The lucky winner will be picked from one of the blogs but we're not telling you which one!  Feel free to drop by Emerald Creek's FB page as well to say hi!

The hop goes from Monday November 16th until Saturday November 21st and the lucky winner will be announced on the 22nd!
My celebration includes a layout that I made for one of the 2 Christmas albums that I plan to give this year.
I put together a stash kit in June of 2014 and never used during that month so it sat on my shelf for all this time. I finally pulled it down and started making a Christmas album with it. I know it's full of bright sunny summer colors but that's ok by me and I'm sure the recipient won't mind that the color palate isn't muted!!

I used lots of scraps, the butterfly paper is one that I punched a bunch of butterfly's out of and instead of tossing the scrap I threw it back into the mix and ended up using it to create this super cute border.

Those enamel squares have been in my stash for years and years and I'm glad I was finally able to get them used up!!
Lots of rub ons mixed with stickers and bling here.
Thanks for stopping by and remember to head on over to Majo's blog to see her Celebration project!!

Use Your Stuff Challenge

Use Your Stuff

Hi Friends!
This weeks challenge is to pull out a pack or two or even three of those leftover letter stickers, be they chipboard, foam or even flat letters, get them out and get them used up.
Here are few examples of a previous card and several layouts I created using those leftover letters...

I made several cards with the leftovers of at least 3 different packs of chipboard letters and finished up all 3 of those I was able to use several of the wood veneer type writers that are nearly impossible to get used up!

I had these big letters leftover from a package, they were originally red, I painted them green and bordered them with yellow to match the letters on the background piece at the bottom of the photos. I then just layered them up as an embellishment...simple and it used them up!!

These started out as either raw, black or white chipboard. I painted them all with the same black paint and then covered that with black stickles for the glitter effect. They started out random but the paint and glitter effect brought them together to look a little more cohesive!

Finally I took five different sets of letters to create this background! Some of the letters that you just see a little of aren't really the letters that you may think they are... just a little creativity and you think you know what the next letter is!

So head on over to the UYS Challenge Blog and share your creation!!

Hi Friends!!
It's time for another challenge over at the UYS challenge blog. This week the challenge is to use your die cuts. Pull out your punches, your big shot, your electronic cutter or hey....pull out your store bought die cuts to use on a card, a layout or any type of project! Be sure to add your creation so that we can see what you were inspired to create.

Here's my overall layout, I'm really getting back into creating 2 page layouts lately. I'm making this one ahead of time so that all I will have to do is add photos at a later date.

The leaves along the top are actually fussy cut, then two of the three leaves on the left corner are cut using my spellbinders dies.

The leaves over the title are cut with my spellbinders die and then one below is fussy cut.

I curled up the edges and then attached the leaves using glue dots.

Same here, the leaves cut with my spellbinders die turned out a little smaller than the fussy cut leaves but they still added to the overall look I was going for.

Banners are always a good addition.

Finally I used a scalloped label die from spellbinders to cut out this stamped image. It was a very tight fit and some of the outer edges were cut away with the die and I had to add the ink back in those spots.

I hope you are able to play along this week over at the UYS challenge blog.

Use Your Stuff Challenge #195--Ribbon

Hello friends!!

Today our challenge at the Use Your Stuff Challenge blog is to use ribbon.
I pulled an older paper pack from my stash, it's from Close to My Heart and called Pathfinding. Of course I can never stick to just what's in the package, I have to add my own bits from my stash. I love how this layout came together!!
I used orange ribbon along the orange leaf paper and then ended up covering most of it us with the embellishments and then the photo mats.

I created the beige pattern paper above and below the ribbon by stamping on it.

I pulled in an alphabet from American crafts, it has a wonderful brown glitter finish.

I layered sequins with bitty bits of bling and scattered the dots from the alpha around with each cluster.
Don't you just love those leaf skeletons and the silk leaves?
They have quite literally been in my stash forever...prolly like 12-15 years or more.

I love too that I was able to  use those flowers from recollections on this page, they have been in my stash for a very long time.

And finally the birds, they came from the $1.50 bin at Michaels a couple of months ago.
Don't forget to head over to the UYS bog and upload your project, we would love for your to play along with us and inspire us with what you use from your stash!

Lucky Us Family--September 2015 CKC

Hello Friends!!
Today I am sharing another layout I made using my September Counterfeit Kit Challenge Kit.
This photo is of Mr Gulley, myself and my sweet grandees Zoë and Cameron.
I was inspired to create this layout using a Pagemaps September 2015 Sketch

I left the chipboard title raw added in a little chipboard heart, a wood veneer heart and finally a heart I punched out. I also added in another bit of that arrow paper popped up on foam adhesive along with a bow I created.

Another heart cluster here and popped up arrow. I also added in some gold and cream twine that was in my spinner on my desk.
Another heart cluster to the right of the photo along with a ticket/label cluster along with the Love This that I stamped out using scraps.

Stink Eye King--September 2015 CKC

Hello Friends!
Today I am sharing another layout using my September 2015 CKC kit.
The subject of this layout is Mr Gulley...he's trying to give me the stink eye....but he doesn't intimidate me at all!

I used one of the 4x6 pocket page cards behind the photo, I just trimmed around the word today and then tucked the photo and mat behind it.

More arrows....I think I've used them on nearly every layout I've made with this kit.

I had a scrap bit of embellishment that I did a tiny bit of journaling on.

The title is a combination of 3 chipboard alphas that I used black paint on and then went over that with black stickles. I haven't pulled stickles out in forever!!

Use Your Stuff Challenge #193--Use ink or markers

Hello Friends!
Today I'm sharing my take on the Use Your Stuff Challenge #193 Use Ink/Markers theme. I chose both ink and markers to
The subjects in these photos are my Mom and my grandees Cameron and Zoë.
I was inspired to create this layout using Sketches In Thyme #163

I stamped the arrows and the words "just saying..." along with the 100% Legit element, I then cut the Legit element out and popped it up on foam tape. I water colored the leaves that are mixed in with the flowers.

I again stamped the arrows and the words "so adorkable" along with the Awkward is my specialty element which I cut out and popped up with foam adhesive. finally I used a sharpie marker to write my journaling
That's it for this weeks challenge. I hope you will head over to the UYS challenge blog and upload your project there because we would all love to be inspired by what you do with your stash!
Thanks for visiting my blog this weeks!!!

September 2015 CKC

Hello Friends!
Today I'm sharing a layout I made using my September Counterfeit Kit Challenge Kit.
This is a companion page to the layout I posted on Friday (I adore you). Shows my little grandee Zoë really getting into that dirt and digging all around.
I was inspired to create this layout using Let's Get Sketchy Sept Week 1 sketch

I added lots of scraps here along with a banner piece from the embellishments and the cork clouds I popped up with foam adhesive.

I snuck in a little washi tape here along with the gold ticket embellishment and the puffy black heart.

I took some of the banner pieces that were in the embellishment pack and added them here along with some of the tiny hearts I cut out with scraps.

And finally some more of the puffy embellishments and the cork camera I popped up with foam adhesive.
Thanks for visiting my blog today friends!!

Life is Good--September 2015 CKC

Hello Friends!
Today I'm sharing another layout I made using my September 2015 CKC kit. I had lots of long strips of paper laying in my scrap pile so I piled them onto this page with some washi tape and then set about adding photos and embellishments.
The title is from a 4x6 pocket page card that I trimmed down for just the title.

I used some scraps to make the arrows. And I colored the wonky diamonds and covered them with liquid glass.

I even used bits of those leftover strips to do my journaling on. I added a subtitle with the blue alpha from my kit.

I cut out the half circle sentiment from a 3x4 pocket page card.
Thanks for visiting my blog today friends!!!
